In Indonesia, it is regarded as one of
the spirit entity that kidnaps children but doesn't harm them especially during
the night time when they wander around outside the house
It kidnaps children to protect them, children
who are left, rejected or ignored by their parents. This spirit will scare their
parents until they realize before it returns the children to the
parents.
These spirits are known by local shamans as
Wewe Gombel. These spirits often appear in woods and forest. Their manifestation
occurs during Maghrib time (dusk time around 6-7 pm)
