The
Wolf Totem
The
Wolf travels in packs and come in many varieties. There are the Red Wolves,
Black Wolves, Grey Wolves, and the Artic Wolf; however they all have similar
characteristics and behaviors. They can be found all over the world in cold
and warm regions. Even though the Wolf has been maligned throughout history
they are very shy and usually uninterested in humans. They are not vicious
animals; however their habit of howling at the moon has given them a bad
reputation among some humans. Most people realize that they are fine
animals and many revere them and listen to their wisdom.
Wolves
travel in small to medium sized packs of eight or less members. There is an
Alpha male and female and Beta members of the pack do not breed, but rather help
take care of the offspring of the Alpha pair. They communicate with each
other via, howls, growls, body posture, whines, and yelps. Howls are used to
locate members of the pack, establish territory and in response the effects of
the moon. They hunt in cooperation usually chasing their prey until they
are too tired to fight back. They have been the inspiration of countless
modern and ancient artistic endeavors, books, poems, songs, and
lore.
The
Wolf teaches us to embrace lunar energy, to respect our urges and unconscious
desires and helps us to accept our intuition and physic
perceptions. Rituals are very important to wolves. The legend of the
“lone wolf” is not simply myth, lone wolves do exist and they do not travel with
a pack, do not mark out territories and seldom howl.
The
wolf has powerful jaws and they have forty-teeth. They are the largest in the
wild canine family but come in many sizes and colors. Those that live in
packs are very territorial and will mark and guard their living localities and
protect their pups to the death. They are fast runners and excellent
predators. A wolf’s sense of smell is one-hundred times that of a human.
Contrary to popular belief, they rarely if ever attack humans and mostly
try to avoid them.
The
Magnificent Wolf Totem possesses the following virtues:
Wolves
teach us the inspiration in teaching, shape-shifting, independence,
individuality, guardianship, group consciousness, leadership, spirituality,
stamina, strong family values, freedom, intuition, inner strength, risk taking,
facing fears, and path finding skills.
Wolf
Animal Pearls are said to impart their particular magical virtues to their
owner. Wolf Pearls are characteristic of its host; they possess all the awesome
characteristics that may be seen in the Wolf itself; the knowledge and
introspection of this animal is contained within the pearl waiting for its
proper owner to bestow its inner magic to that unique and fortunate
individual.
For
century’s shamans, priestesses, spiritualists and practitioners of the occult
have used Wolf animal pearls to transfer the powerful magical energy of the Wolf
to themselves and to others in need of this commanding animal magic.
Wolf
pearls are highly sought after by any wishing to absorb Wolf like virtues into
their lives and develop stronger mental abilities such as those embodied by this
misunderstood creature. The owner of a Wolf pearl will see their lives,
spiritual energy and mental clarity imbued with all of the virtues attributed to
the “Teacher” of humanity and the keeper of the night, the Wolf.
The
Wolf animal totem is a strong spirit indeed and its magical properties are one
of the most influential of all animal totems. Strength, family values, the
importance of learning, the power of cooperation, and so much more can be
integrated into the spirit of the possessor of this magical pearl and the Wolf
totem.
