The African Wildcat is
said to be the closest relative to the domestic house cat, although they are
twice the size and have longer legs. However, they are smaller in size, but
still possess, many of the same characteristics and virtues of their other close
relatives, the Tiger, the Leopard and the Bob Cat, but with more subdued aspects
and virtues. This is the cat that was domesticated by the Egyptians as far
back as 4000 BC.
The Wild Cat is
nocturnal and hunts mostly at night. They are quick, stealthy and
agile. Like their Big Cat cousins, they are also very fierce and
fast. They climb trees and can quickly escape an enemy. They are
excellent stalkers of prey, but can also be playful with each other, as are
domesticated cats.
